Before You Go

Visa, K-ETA, arrival card, eSIM, T-money — in the right order.

1. 12–3 months before

   Check visa & K-ETA

   Many nationalities can enter visa-free, but some still need K-ETA (electronic travel authorization). Rules change, so verify for your passport.

2. 23 days before

   Arrival card & Q-CODE

   Fill in the online arrival card and health questionnaire in advance to skip paper forms at immigration.

3. 31 week before

   Get an eSIM or pocket Wi-Fi

   Maps and taxi apps need data. eSIM activates on arrival; check that your phone supports it and is unlocked.

4. 41 week before

   Install essential apps

   Naver Map or KakaoMap (Google Maps is unreliable for walking/transit in Korea), Kakao T (taxi), Papago (translation).

5. 5Before & on arrival

   Cards, cash & T-money

   Cards are widely accepted. Buy a T-money card at a convenience store or airport for subway and bus; some overseas cards work directly in taxis and shops.

6. 6Packing

   Power plug: Type C/F, 220V

   Bring a Type C/F adapter if your plug differs. Most phone chargers handle 220V.
